Bill K. Underwood is a freelance columnist and author of several books, including two novels - The Minotaur Medallion, and the best-selling Resurrection Day. Both are available in paperback here.
Yeah Bill, when someone retorts: "well God made it good", or "Jesus is the reason for the season", I do point out that Israel made the exact type of claims concerning the Golden Calf. When someone answers: "that was in the Old Testament and doesn't apply to Christians", I then ask for a scripture where Jesus ok'd celebrating his birth because he clearly commanded us to celebrate his death. Logical consistency demands that if he wanted us to celebrate his birth, he give us a clear command just as he did for his death.
